2008 Price List
HOW TO READ THE LISTINGS
Following the cultivar's name is the hybridizer's name and year of registration with the American Hemerocallis Society. The scape height (not foliage height) is followed by the season of bloom, either Early, Mid or Late. The next entry is the flower size as registered by the hybridizer. Following that entry is the foliage type: dormant, evergreen or semi-evergreen. Other symbols and abbreviations include:
before the cultivar's name indicates that the plant is a tetraploid. All others are diploids. This refers to the number of chromosomes. Diploids have 11 pairs while tetraploids have 22. This only becomes important if you want to make seeds since a “dip” can only be crossed with a “dip” or a “tet” with a “tet”.Parentage: The pod parent is listed first followed by the pollen parent. When more than two registered cultivars are involved, it can get a bit complicated. To make it easy, just look for the large “X”, and remember that all the names on the left side of the equation are maternal and those on the right side are paternal.
