We have been growing daylilies for over twenty years and have enjoyed the evolution of the ways of sharing our plants, from printed black and white sheets to full colour catalogues. The photo gallery includes most of the plants in our garden except for new arrivals that haven’t yet bloomed. All the photographs were taken in our Zone 6b (US Zone 5) garden.

Our garden is located just east of Hamilton, perched on the edge of the south shore of Lake Ontario in the Niagara Peninsula. Looking north, Toronto is directly across the lake from us. The winter lake winds apparently temper our climate, but they also strip the garden of any fall-laid mulch. Our winters naturally help us select hardy daylilies for Canadian gardens.

Directions: Lakeshore Drive is located on the north side of the Queen Elizabeth Way between Hamilton and Grimsby. From points east (Niagara), take the Fifty Road exit then continue west on the North Service Road turning right onto the newly-named Watercrest Street (formerly Glover Access Road). From points west (Toronto, Hamilton) take the Fruitland Road exit, left onto Fruitland then right onto the North Service Road, then turning left onto Watercrest Street.

Follow Watercrest to the stop sign at Glover Road. Ahead, you’ll see what looks like a single-lane driveway plus a new road “Watershore” to its left, separated by a chainlink fence. Take the single lane “road”, which really is Lakeshore Drive.
